West Art Welcomes Frog, with Tyler Burkhart

Crawling out of New Rochelle, NY, Frog— a two-piece guitar outfit has been one of America's best kept secrets since their self-titled debut had Gold Flake Paint declaring it "the best American guitar record of the year.” There's something intentionally lo-fi and unhurried about them, like they're operating completely outside the hype cycle on their own timeline and terms. Like every cult band from the past decade, bottled into half an hour of music. Sitting somewhere in the blur between indie rock, folk, and freak-folk, Frog makes music that is guitar-driven and intimate.

Their sleeper stoner hit "You Know I'm Down" tells you everything you need to know: this is music that creeps up on you. And then it doesn't let go. Fresh off their 2023 comeback — their first album since 2019— Frog is back on the road and bringing all of it to West Art. Weird, warm, and completely their own thing.
